the world wide web

thanks to our IT guy the internet in the nearest camp building now reaches my house across the expanse of the maintenance field.

this is the lovely view from my front porch. the dreary day adds to its loveliness : )
the internet comes from the little grey building

i have a phone through which i have done all of my home interneting the past year and half, and it hasnt been that bad at all. but. this is better.

and faster.

and i dont have to tether anything and connect anything. it's just there. waiting to be used.

so i will likely blog more regularly.

and probably purchase music and books i dont really need.

i am considering getting netflix. but i am hesitant because i have enjoyed life without easy access to even network television for the past 4 years. but, im not an addict anymore so maybe it would be fine to try it out.

any thoughts or suggestions on this? is netflix worth $10 a month?

either way, im still pleased to have the blessing of free wireless internet brought to me from the maintenance building.

  1. Books you don't need? What? Seriously? How can that be? :)

Netflix---hmmm...that might be nice in the winter months when life slows down or in the summer when you need a break.

  2. Well, I'm a fan of your blogging more frequently. ;-) I'd have to say having rented movies is cool (we get Blockbuster, not Netflix), but mindless TV is never a good thing. Glad you feel you have kicked that habit. Can't imagine doing all my Interneting via my phone!

  3. Yes, get Netflix. Then watch Sherlock. Season 1 is on there, and it is only 3 episodes long, so no chance at addiction. Then start watching Dr. Who. There are 83 of those. I also like Luther and Top Gear. Wait a second, those are all British shows! How did that happen?

  4. We used to use Netflix until they bumped up the price; the quality of what was available through "watch instant" went down. If there's a TV show we want to watch, we can generally watch it through XFINITY (we use Comcast) or on the network's website (ABC, FOX, etc). We don't have a TV, so no cable. We only watch what's available for free online :P

    PS: Yay for more blogging!
